Isaiah 53:6
“All of us like sheep have gone astray, We have turned, each one, to his own way; But the Lord has caused the wickedness of us all [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing] To fall on Him [instead of us]."
Jeremiah 5:6 “My people have become lost sheep; Their shepherds have led them astray. They have made them turn aside [to the seductive places of idolatry] on the mountains. They have gone along [from one sin to another] from mountain to hill; They have forgotten their [own] resting place."
Ezekiel 33:11 "... ‘As I live,’ says the Lord God, ‘I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn back (change your way of thinking), turn back [in repentance] from your evil ways..."
In my personal experience, reflecting on the scriptures Isaiah 53:6, Jeremiah 5:6, and Ezekiel 33:11 has been transformative in understanding how easily we can stray from the path God intends for us. These verses highlight a common spiritual struggle where people, like lost sheep, wander away due to their own decisions or misguided guidance. I recall times when I felt deeply disconnected from my faith, similar to being a lost sheep. The challenges of daily life—distractions, temptations, and the pressures to conform to secular values—often made me question my spiritual direction. However, turning back, as Ezekiel encourages, has been a pivotal practice. It's not merely about feeling remorse but actively changing the way of thinking and the actions that follow. The concept of ‘showing the God in me’ resonates strongly with me as a call to reflect God's love and righteousness through my lifestyle. It’s a daily decision to follow Christ authentically, despite setbacks or the ease of taking the wrong path. Social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram have also helped me connect with communities focused on Christian living, encouraging mutual support in this journey. This reflection makes me mindful of the shepherds—our leaders and mentors in faith—and their role in guiding us. It reminds me to seek guidance from those whose lives align with godly principles rather than worldly allurements. Ultimately, these scriptures offer hope and responsibility: hope in God's willingness to forgive when we repent sincerely, and responsibility to actively choose the right path for a fulfilling spiritual life. Embracing these messages has deepened my faith and motivated me to live in a way that truly honors the divine within me and those around me.
