Don’t Accept What God Did Not Put On You

Not Every open door is for you

You are not for everyone and everything

You must operate within the boundaries of your faith, morals, values, and confession as a believer. Yes, God works in many strategic ways, and sometimes, you will find yourself in spaces that contradict and confront everything you stand for in the spirit, your identity, values, and morals.

But placement does not mean conforming. You can still work with God's blueprint, which can provide many escapes.

There is a scripture I love so much and it is stamped in my heart because it is a reminder that I don’t have to navigate, strategize and figure it out alone.👇🏾

“Whether you turn to the right or the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”” - ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭30‬:‭21‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Daniel did not go to the palace screaming and making noise about who he was (Side note: We need godly wisdom to navigate this world). Instead, he leaned into God, and his Spirit guided him every step of the way.

Scriptures say, “God had caused the chief official to show favor and compassion to Daniel.”

See, this proves that you don’t always have to strive; just rest and watch God work strategically for you.

It started with favor with the gatekeeper and progressed to many strategic moves and escapes without compromising his God's values.

You don’t have to fit in to make it (whatever “making it” means to you). Daniel resolved not to defile himself.

You will find yourself striving and slowly morphing into something else when you conform because different people have different expectations of you and would love for you to fit into their ideas of you that make you digestible to them.

But there is God

And he is your helper.

You don’t have to be like them to succeed, make an impact, or leave your mark.

Just do it the way God has called you to and be what he has called you to. Remember, He calls you by name, not by their name.

... Read moreNavigating life while staying true to your faith and values can be challenging, especially when you find yourself in environments that seem contrary to everything you believe in. From personal experience, I’ve learned that it’s crucial not to accept roles, identities, or pressures that don’t align with God's plan for you. Sometimes, what appears as an open door might be a detour away from your genuine purpose. The story of Daniel serves as a powerful reminder of this truth. Despite being placed in a foreign palace and renamed by King Nebuchadnezzar, Daniel did not let these external changes define him. He maintained his God-given identity by refusing to conform or defile himself, even when it was easier or more convenient to do so. This resistance wasn’t about stubbornness; it was rooted in deep spiritual conviction and trust in God’s guidance. I can relate to the struggle of feeling out of place or pressured to change to fit into someone else’s expectations. However, like Daniel, resting in God’s favor and wisdom can open doors without compromising your core beliefs. Often, we think we must strive endlessly to succeed, but sometimes the best course is to listen for God’s voice directing you toward the right path, just as Isaiah 30:21 assures us. Another interesting insight I’ve gathered is how God preserved Daniel’s original name in scripture despite King Nebuchadnezzar’s changes. This taught me that even when external forces try to redefine us, our true identity remains intact in God's eyes. Recognizing this helps me stay anchored and resist societal pressures to be someone I’m not. In practical terms, operating within your faith’s boundaries means saying 'no' when necessary and trusting that God will provide strategic escapes and favor, even when the situation seems overwhelming. It requires wisdom and courage, but ultimately it leads to genuine success—one that honors both your spiritual identity and your personal integrity. In conclusion, you don’t have to fit into everyone’s expectations or workplaces that challenge your morals. Embrace the unique path God has tailored for you, listen closely for His guidance, and remember that God calls you by your name, not by the labels others attempt to place on you. Staying true to this brings peace, divine favor, and a fulfilling journey.
