To my first Light
You were the first beat of a brand new song,
The first hello where hearts belong.
With eyes wide open to the skies above,
You taught us all the shape of love.
Kindness flows from your gentle hands,
Like rivers knowing just where to land.
You feel so deeply, love so loud,
A soul that stands out in any crowd.
You’re sure of stars and stories true,
The things you love are stitched in you.
And when you speak of dreams to chase,
The world slows down to give you space.
You lead not loud, but with your light,
You hold our home in hugs so tight.
A compass for your siblings’ skies—
The steady sun when questions rise.
Determined heart, you always know
Where you belong, how far you’ll go.
Your passions bloom like wildflower seeds,
You follow joy, and where it leads.
To be the eldest isn’t small—
It’s being the first to rise and fall.
But oh, you rise with grace so wide,
Our brave, bright girl, our eldest pride.
