Sin, Transgression, Iniquity ⚠️
It's important for us to understand the difference between them as we study God's Word.
May we notice when we have turned from the Lord (intentionally and unintentionally) and repent (turn back to Him).
David was a great example for us- he failed and yet always had a heart of repentance.
May we not be comfortable with sin and come to the throne of grace with CONFIDENCE!

Having reflected on the distinctions between sin, transgression, and iniquity, I find it's incredibly helpful to deepen this understanding by exploring real-life applications through God's Word. Sin, as described, includes moral evil and rebellion against God's laws, which can occur both intentionally and unintentionally. This broad category helps me realize how often I fall short, even when unaware. Transgression, however, is more specific and intentional—it involves willfully crossing a known boundary. Recognizing this helps me hold myself accountable, especially when I consciously choose actions I know are against God's commandments. The example of David is particularly encouraging; despite his failures, his sincere heart of repentance shows us that God's grace is always accessible when we truly turn back to Him. Iniquity refers to the inner inclination toward sin—a state even before the outward act takes place. This reminds me that spiritual cleansing involves more than just stopping external wrongs; it requires addressing the root causes in our hearts. Psalm 51's plea for God to "wash me thoroughly from my iniquity" resonates deeply, highlighting the need for ongoing self-examination and God's refining touch. Repentance is the turning point—a conscious decision to turn back to God, seek His forgiveness, and change direction. God's mercy encourages me not to be comfortable with my shortcomings but to consistently seek renewal and strength.
