Moving into Second Trimester 🥰

4/5 Edited to

... Read moreEntering the second trimester is truly a remarkable period in pregnancy. At around 14 to 15 weeks, many expecting mothers begin to notice an increase in appetite and energy compared to the first trimester, which can be both exciting and challenging. I remember being constantly hungry and craving comfort foods like chocolate chip pancakes or seasonal favorites like Thanksgiving dishes, which I happily prepared as soon as I could. One of the fascinating parts of this stage is watching the baby’s growth through ultrasounds and size comparisons. Around week 14, the baby is approximately 14.7 cm (5.8 inches) long and weighs about 93 grams, roughly the size of a peach. By week 15, the baby grows to about 16.7 cm (6.6 inches) and weighs 117 grams, comparable to an apple. These tangible comparisons really help to visualize how quickly your little one is developing inside you. Alongside the physical changes like an emerging baby bump, preparing the nursery adds to the excitement. Putting together the crib and dresser became a joyful milestone for me, making the reality of welcoming a baby boy feel more concrete. Even the smallest details and decorations bring so much happiness and anticipation. Social support and little gestures also brighten this journey—like when a thoughtful colleague brought coffee and joked about the baby needing a strawberry frappuccino, turning a simple moment into something memorable. For anyone moving into their second trimester, embracing the fluctuating emotions, growing appetite, and baby’s milestones can make this chapter truly special. It’s a time to celebrate progress while preparing for what’s ahead. Taking photos, journaling your feelings, and sharing your experiences with other expectant moms can deepen the connection to this unique and fleeting season of life.
