The never-ending war...Is a war in our own heads.
In our lives...There are many forms of war that we have to face.
We fight deadline, corset work, fight other people's criticism, fight fate, or fight abdominal problems each day...But believe it? No war is as terrible and tired as a quiet war in our heads.
The hardest fight of my life...Is to fight yourself.
Because this enemy knows us best. He knows where we are weak, knows what we are afraid of, and knows which words can make us fall the easiest. When we want to start doing something new, the ego in his heart whispers, 'You can't do it.' When we try to get up, laziness says, 'Take a break, tomorrow.' And when we make mistakes, guilt reinforces, 'See...You suck. '
It's a battle we can't escape, because no matter how far we run to the horizon,..We still have to turn around and find this enemy in the mirror.
Fighting yourself doesn't mean we have to hate ourselves or overcome with violence, but it's about learning to pull our consciousness back on the day our hearts start to bend.
It is to force yourself to get out of bed on an unmotivated day.
It's about swallowing fear down your throat and stepping out to do it despite shaking your hands.
And most importantly,..It is to forgive ourselves on the day we are defeated, so that tomorrow we can have the awakening to fight it again.
No one wins himself in one day. It accumulates small victories each day...Win one minute of laziness, win one step of fear, that's victory.
