When making the trip out west to Yellowstone, we love to stop at the Badlands to see some amazing views or beautiful rock formations. There are many different overlooks you can stop at that have little trails, but what we love to do is climb the rocks! If you’re lucky, you can even find some fossils in these beautiful old stones.

The Notch Trail in Badlands National Park is one of the most fun and beautiful hikes in South Dakota. This trail will take you through a scenic canyon, after which you’ll climb a wooden ladder up a steep hill, followed by a walk along a narrow ledge of about 6-feet wide with a drop-off on one side.
