... Read moreHey everyone! Building on my school morning routine from 6 AM to 8:30 AM, I wanted to dive a bit deeper into how you can best set up your own perfect morning. My detailed routine list, like the one you saw in my post outlining activities from 'Wake up - 7:00' to 'Get to school - 8:15', is just a starting point. The beauty of a routine is that it's entirely personal, and what works for me might need a few tweaks for you!
One of the biggest questions I get is about timing: "What time do I actually need to wake up?" It can feel like a math problem, but it's easier than you think! Here’s a simple way to figure out your ideal wake-up time, directly addressing those tricky calculation queries:
How to Calculate Your Perfect Wake-Up Time:
Start with your school start time. Let's say school begins at 9:00 AM.
Subtract your travel time. If it takes you 20 minutes to get to school, you need to leave the house by 8:40 AM.
Subtract your getting-ready time. This is where you list out all your morning tasks:
Dressing & Hair: Maybe 25 minutes for choosing an outfit and getting ready.
Hygiene & Skincare: Brushing teeth (5 minutes), a quick wash or shower (10-15 minutes), skincare (5 minutes). Total around 20-25 minutes. This covers the 'morning shower routine bathroom' aspect!
Breakfast/Snack: Even if you don't eat a full breakfast like me, maybe you grab a quick snack or just need 10 minutes to grab a drink or vitamins.
Packing/Final Checks: 5 minutes to gather your backpack, lunch, and double-check everything.
Add a Buffer! Always add 10-15 minutes for unexpected delays – a lost shoe, a sudden phone call, or just needing a moment to breathe.
So, if you need to leave by 8:40 AM, and your getting-ready tasks take about 55-65 minutes (25+20+10+5), plus a 15-minute buffer, you're looking at needing about 70-80 minutes before you leave. This means you'd need to start getting ready around 7:20 AM - 7:30 AM. If you add in a quick workout or coffee time, just add those minutes to your total! This method helps you answer questions like "if you wake up at 7:30 a.m., and it takes you 10 minutes to eat your breakfast, 5 minutes to brush your teeth, 25 minutes to wash and get dressed, 5 minutes to get your backpack ready, and 20 minutes to get to school, will you be at school by 9:00 a.m.?" – Yes, you’d be there just in time!
Making Your Routine Aesthetic & Enjoyable (for Teens & High School Students):
Beyond just timings, a good routine should feel good! The OCR recognized a 'positive message about self-love and smiling' in my original image, and that's so important! Think about what makes your mornings less of a rush and more of a calm start. For my 'morning bathroom routine,' I might put on a favorite playlist while I'm doing my skincare or getting dressed. For 'teen morning routine aesthetic', consider:
Morning Playlist: Upbeat but not too jarring! Music can seriously boost your mood.
Quick Stretch/Meditation: Even 5 minutes can make a difference in your mindset.
Positive Affirmations: A quick reminder to yourself that you're capable and ready for the day embodies that 'positive message about self-love'.
Organized Space: A tidy room and bathroom make getting ready feel less chaotic. Having your clothes picked out the night before is a game-changer!
Personalized Hygiene: Beyond just brushing teeth, what's your go-to morning skincare? A refreshing face wash, a good moisturizer, or a quick hair routine can make you feel more put-together and confident.
Remember, your 'ideal school morning routine for a 7 AM start high school student' will look different from someone else's. The goal is to craft a 'school routine' that reduces stress, ensures punctuality, and sets a positive tone for your entire day. Don't be afraid to experiment, adjust, and make your 'school morning routine list' truly yours!
