Take a BATH 🫧
Grief: the experience of coping with loss. Most of us think of grief as happening in the painful period following the death of a loved one. But grief can accompany any event that disrupts or challenges our sense of normalcy or ourselves.
Since 2020, I’ve been in a battle of a lifetime. The loss of my Aunt Shirley…and shortly after…my beloved Grandmother Mary has forever stained me. Thoughts of past opportunities missed, current moments lost, and future moments impossible has gone from mental torment to physical. Tighted jaw and shoulders, dissatisfaction, alienation, and depression ravages my core at times…but I’ve progressed. I’m able to talk more, enjoy the present, appreciate the past, gain excitement for the future through therapy and self-work. Becoming a mom, changing career paths, moving, body changes has been immeasurably rewarding and yet grief can often accompany change. And days when I need the embrace of quietude…I take a bath. 💧
