Instead, I trained myself to keep a quick cadence—fast and light steps—which felt awkward at first but proved more sustainable under fatigue. Finally, maintaining rhythm is crucial. I practice running drills and tempo runs specifically to simulate fatigue scenarios, so when I am tired during a race, my form holds steady. This targeted training under pressure rather than at fresh states truly bridges the gap between average and strong finishes. Incorporating these strategies has transformed my running experience—helping me run smarter, reduce injury, and enjoy each run more.
