Prep for a 2026 rebrand

So this year I am doing a MASSIVE clear out of literally everything I own. Trying to eliminate clutter and create space for a fresh start.

I started about a year or two ago to make a rotating birthday and Christmas list on Amazon to send people as they ask. I rotate things out as my interests arise and things are removed as they are purchased.

Here are 7 things I am most hopeful for:

1- a hatch alarm dupe: I love the aesthetic and idea of this alarm and would love a good dupe this year

2- a walking pad: recently found out I have arthritis in my knees so walking has been amazing so something indoor would help heaps

3- cotton/bamboo bedding: I get really hot at night and would love to switch to a more nontoxic alternative

4- collagen face masks: another one to go with the season as my skin has been fighting hard these past cold weeks

5- cotton loungewear sets: I found some by Hanes that I love that are very comfortable and low/non-toxic

6- stainless steel containers: I had a few and I love them way more than plastic

7- hair dryer brush: I’ve used a revlon one for yeeeaaars and it’s been one of my favs

As I'm making space for new, better habits, I've realized how crucial it is to choose products that genuinely serve me and my skin. If you're like me, a Gen X or Millennial navigating a busy life, you probably value practical, reliable choices that offer good value. And when it comes to skincare, finding those holy grail products can be a game-changer. Let's dive into some of my personal recommendations for face masks and moisturizers, keeping in mind different skin needs – because true self-care is about finding what truly works for *you*. My Top Face Mask Recommendations for Every Skin Need: Starting with what's on my 'X-Mas Essentials' wishlist: collagen face masks. These are fantastic for giving your skin a plumping, hydrating boost, especially when the weather gets cold and harsh. I look for masks that combine collagen with other hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid or ceramides. For a quick, affordable pick-me-up, I love brands like Mediheal or Jayjun for their sheet masks, which deliver a concentrated dose of serum. Best for Eczema/Sensitive Skin: If your skin is easily irritated or prone to eczema, reach for calming, fragrance-free masks. Brands like La Roche-Posay's Cicaplast B5 Mask or Avène's Soothing Radiance Mask are excellent. They focus on ingredients like colloidal oatmeal, madecassoside, or thermal spring water to reduce redness and discomfort without stripping your skin. For Deep Hydration/Dry Skin: When my skin feels parched, I turn to intensely hydrating masks. The Laneige Water Sleeping Mask is a cult favorite for a reason – it locks in moisture overnight. For an in-the-moment boost, Kiehl's Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Mask or Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask are fantastic, packed with squalane and glycerin to replenish moisture. Repairing the Skin Barrier: To strengthen your skin's protective barrier, look for masks rich in ceramides, niacinamide, and fatty acids. Paula's Choice Super Hydrate Overnight Mask is a great option. It’s designed to soothe and support the skin's natural defenses, which is key for long-term health. Value for Money: You don't have to break the bank for a good mask! Garnier SkinActive Sheet Masks offer a wide variety for different concerns, and they're readily available at drugstores. The Ordinary's Salicylic Acid 2% Masque is another budget-friendly gem for clarifying, though it's more of a treatment than a hydrating mask. Moisturizer Must-Haves: Brands I Trust: A good moisturizer is the foundation of any skincare routine. It seals in all the goodness and protects your skin. Here are my go-to recommendations: Best for Eczema/Sensitive Skin: For truly sensitive or eczema-prone skin, simplicity is key. Vanicream Moisturizing Cream is a dermatologist favorite—it’s free of common irritants and incredibly effective. CeraVe Moisturizing Cream with its blend of ceramides and hyaluronic acid is another excellent, affordable choice that helps restore the skin barrier without causing flare-ups. For Deep Hydration/Dry Skin: If you need serious hydration, look for richer creams. Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream feels luxurious and provides intense moisture. For a more accessible option, Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel (though a gel, it's surprisingly hydrating) or Eucerin Advanced Repair Cream are fantastic for replenishing dry skin. Repairing the Skin Barrier: Products with ceramides, peptides, and fatty acids are your best friends here. Skinfix Barrier+ Triple Lipid-Peptide Cream is phenomenal for restoring a compromised barrier. Even something like KraveBeauty Great Barrier Relief (a serum, but acts like a light moisturizer) can do wonders with its blend of tamanu oil and niacinamide. For Normal Skin: If you're lucky enough to have normal skin, you can often opt for lighter, balanced moisturizers. Cetaphil Daily Hydrating Lotion or Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream are reliable, non-greasy options that keep skin balanced and healthy. Value for Money: Drugstore aisles are full of treasures! Pond's Dry Skin Cream is an oldie but a goodie, offering rich hydration for a low price. Nivea Creme (the blue tin!) is incredibly versatile and deeply moisturizing, especially for drier areas. And The Ordinary's Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA offers excellent basic hydration without breaking the bank. Making thoughtful choices about what we bring into our lives, whether it's a walking pad for joint health or a nourishing face mask for skin vitality, is all part of creating a happier, healthier space. This curated list represents my personal 'HOPE' for practical upgrades, ensuring that my fresh start includes taking the best care of myself!
