... Read moreWatching the Stranger Things finale really made me think back to where it all began, especially with Eleven, Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Will. Remember that first season? It feels like ages ago, but the magic was instant. The Duffer Brothers delivered a masterclass in nostalgia and suspense right from the start. Eleven, the mysterious girl with powers, totally changed Mike's world and brought the whole gang together. Her journey from a scared, experimental subject to a powerful hero has been incredible to witness. Dustin and Lucas were the perfect skeptical-but-loyal friends, always there for Mike, providing both comic relief and genuine heart. And poor Will, vanishing into the Upside Down – that's what kicked off this incredible adventure! You could see the bonds forming so quickly, especially between Mike and Eleven, and the fierce loyalty Dustin, Lucas, and Will had for each other, which has only deepened over the years. Looking back at those early days and seeing how characters like Lucas evolved, especially with Max later on (their note exchange in the hospital was so sweet and heartbreakingly iconic, as seen in those image stills!), just shows how much growth they've had. And the dynamic between Mike and Will, which the show really highlighted from the beginning and through various seasons, has been a cornerstone. I remember seeing those early character portraits and the promotional posters, thinking how much potential each character carried for the unfolding saga. It wasn't just the core kids; we met Hopper, Joyce, Nancy, Jonathan, and even Steve 'The Hair' Harrington, who went from being a typical high school jock to everyone's favorite babysitter! The way the Duffer Brothers built the world of Hawkins, with its underlying mysteries and threats like the Demogorgon, was just phenomenal. Every new season brought more depth, more danger, and more heart, constantly re-engaging us with the lives of these beloved characters. From the innocent D&D games in Mike's basement to battling Vecna in the later seasons, these characters have faced so much. Thinking about what Eleven, Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Will have been through since Season 1 really puts the emotional weight of the finale into perspective. It's a testament to the storytelling that we've grown so attached to them, rooting for their friendships, their love stories, and their survival. Even though the main article talks about the emotional ending, it’s impossible to truly appreciate it without remembering the vivid foundation laid in that first unforgettable season. The initial mystery of Will's disappearance, the introduction of the Upside Down, and Eleven's incredible powers were expertly woven together, creating a sense of dread and wonder that few shows achieve. The casting was spot-on, and the chemistry between the young actors was palpable even then, making us invest deeply in their fates. Their bikes, their walkie-talkies, their shared trauma – it all built a foundation of friendship that we've seen tested time and again. Remembering those initial moments makes the impact of the final season even stronger, reminding us of how far everyone has come from just playing D&D in a small town. It's been an epic ride watching them grow from kids into heroes, and the early seasons are definitely worth revisiting to truly appreciate the full scope of their amazing journey on Netflix!

The problem isn’t that you’re not working hard enough. It’s that you’re trying to do everything the long way. Most nurses I talk to aren’t lazy, they’re just exhausted from: working shifts, taking care of family, and still trying to keep up with school. So they keep telling themselves: “

Editing always feels like it’s about fixing words… but somehow it ends up teaching you things about yourself too. Here are three things I’ve learned while editing this book: 🖊 1. I care way too much about pens. If it doesn’t write smoothly or lays down too much ink, I simply cannot function.
