This book was so good I absolutely couldn’t put it down. It had forced proximity, enemies to lovers, and workplace romance that make you want to dive head first into the rest of Liz Tomforde’s books. The banter is funny and I noticed myself giggling throughout the book from the smart ass remarks made by Zander. Stevie (FMC) is a flight attendant trying to find herself, and Zander is a hockey playboy trying to change his narrative. They bring out the best in each other throughout this book, and the deep discussions of body positivity and mental health awareness were amazing. This book felt like a mature and real romance, like I could actually picture this kind of relationship.
Now I promised not to give anything away so I’m going to stop there! One thing I will say, the book does look huge so don’t get scared off by it, I promise once you open it you will be hooked. For more of what the story is about, I posted the back cover of the book on the next slide!

For those looking to explore more of Liz Tomforde's work, or even just understand why her characters resonate so deeply, let me share some of my thoughts!
What truly sets Liz Tomforde apart, especially in 'Mile High,' is her knack for tackling complex themes within a heartwarming romance. It's not just about the thrilling 'forced proximity' or the delicious 'enemies to lovers' dynamic; it's about the genuine growth of characters like Stevie and Zander. As I read, I found myself completely invested in their journey, particularly how they navigate sensitive topics like mental health and body image. It’s handled with such grace and authenticity, making their love story feel incredibly mature and relatable. You genuinely feel like you're getting a dual POV experience, even without explicit chapter labels, because their struggles and triumphs are so vividly portrayed.
Many readers, myself included, often search for 'Liz Tomforde's most romantic book characters,' and I can tell you, Zander and Stevie definitely rank high on that list for me. Zander, the hockey playboy, isn't just a charming facade; he has layers, vulnerabilities, and a real arc of redemption. And Stevie, the flight attendant finding herself, is just so easy to root for. Their banter is electric, yes, but it's their deeper conversations and how they support each other through personal challenges that truly define their 'forbidden romance' and 'workplace romance' elements. It's not just a whirlwind; it's a partnership built on understanding.
If you're new to Liz Tomforde and 'Mile High' was your first taste, you're in for a treat with her other books too! While each story stands strong on its own, you’ll find common threads of strong character development, engaging plots, and often, those delightful secondary characters – sometimes even with 'doggies' making adorable appearances! She excels at creating worlds where love isn't just a fairytale, but a journey with real obstacles and genuine connection. Her stories often feature similar high-stakes emotional journeys and steamy, yet meaningful, relationships.
For anyone who enjoyed the blend of humor, spice, and heartfelt emotion in 'Mile High,' I highly recommend checking out her other works. They often explore similar tropes like 'workplace romance' or 'sports romance,' but always with a fresh perspective and characters that stick with you long after you've turned the last page. Liz Tomforde has a unique talent for making you feel deeply for her characters, making them feel like friends you're rooting for. It's this depth that makes her books so re-readable and why I'll always be reaching for her next release. Trust me, if you loved 'Mile High,' you'll want to explore more from this brilliant author!
