Southern winter 🧣 your cold weather playbook
I’m in Texas, and winter here gets real—windy 30s, damp 40s, then a random 72°F afternoon. I’m building a simple playbook that actually works in the South.
If you live in a milder climate, share your city, typical Dec–Feb temps, and your three-piece outfit formula (top + bottom + shoes). Which fabrics win for you—fleece, wool blend, thermal cotton, down?
Home hacks welcome: humidifier, weather-stripping, heated blanket, space heater, sock/boot combos. Add one “absolutely not” (e.g., wet denim) and the exact temp that ends short season for you—and why. I’ll test your best tips this week. ❄️🧣

As a long ago transplant from the Mid-Atlantic to southwestern FL, I've become quite unhappy in temps under @ 72°! I'm almost ashamed to admit I bring a down parka to walk through Walmart's freezer section. 🥶 Looks like so much for global warming, tree-huggers. The lingering cold blast over the southeastern US ought to be telling you something. I know it's telling me to be grateful I can fit in two pairs of pants, kept a few sweaters and a hat and gloves!
