College is still worth it 📚

Even with the job market looking awful for new grads, I still think people should go to college.

It’s not just about landing a dream job — it’s an investment in yourself. High school barely scratches the surface when it comes to understanding the world.

Any major, no matter how “useless” people call it, will give you the tools to think critically, see how systems (like capitalism) really work, and understand why so much of it feels unsustainable for regular people.

Sometimes the value isn’t in the paycheck right away… it’s in how much smarter and sharper you become.

Do you agree, or is college no longer worth it?

... Read moreDespite the current challenging job market for recent graduates, investing in a college education offers benefits that extend far beyond immediate employment opportunities. College fosters critical thinking skills that are essential for navigating complex social and economic systems such as capitalism, which can often feel overwhelming and unsustainable for many. The value of college lies not only in preparing students for their first jobs but also in developing intellectual maturity and a sharper worldview. Higher education encourages students to analyze and question the structures around them, equipping them with the tools to adapt and innovate in their personal and professional lives. Moreover, every major, regardless of how it may be perceived, contributes uniquely to this intellectual growth. Whether studying the arts, sciences, humanities, or social sciences, students gain a deeper understanding of different perspectives and cultivate skills such as problem-solving, communication, and analytical thinking. In a world where rapid changes redefine the job market constantly, the ability to learn and think critically can provide long-term career resilience and opportunities for personal development. College also offers access to a broad network of peers, mentors, and resources, which can prove invaluable as graduates progress through their careers. In essence, the investment in college is an investment in oneself. While the paycheck may not be immediate, the knowledge, skills, and insights gained create a foundation for future success and adaptability. For those weighing their options, understanding the broader benefits of a college education can help make a more informed decision about its worth in today's economic landscape.
