Spent 300$ on express pass an Epic…Was it worth it
It was a pretty hefty price point for me and my husband (575$ total) and that’s not including the tickets. Thankfully, we got free tickets from a family member 🥲🙌🏼💙 It was nice skipping to the front of the line for most of the 11 rides at this park. We ended up not utilizing it for the two shows at the park, and instead, walked up about 10 minutes beforehand, which allowed us to not have to wait so long for the shows. Surprisingly, we also got better seats than the last time when we waited longer for the shows.
The biggest draw was that we had enough free time to sit for 3 different meals/ breaks in the park. We didn’t feel rushed, and it made the shorter rides more enjoyable bc we didn’t have to wait over an hour for a ride that is over in less than 2 minutes (mine cart madness 👀). For example, popular attractions like Mario Kart and Frankenstein had notoriously long lines. With the express pass, we bypassed those queues and saved upwards of an hour per ride. Interestingly, while we didn't use the pass for shows, getting to the venues about 10 minutes early allowed us to secure excellent seats without having to wait excessively beforehand. This balance of using the express pass selectively helped us maximize its value and keep our day flexible. Another unexpected benefit was the ability to enjoy three relaxed meal breaks throughout the day. Without the usual pressure caused by lines, we could savor our food and rest, making the entire day less tiring. If you’re planning a visit to Universal parks, especially during peak times, the express pass can be a game changer. However, it’s essential to assess your budget and priorities—whether you prefer more rides or can make do with occasional wait times. Overall, the express pass offered us convenience and improved our park experience, turning a hectic day into an enjoyable adventure.
