Changing your hair color to something bold like blue can be an exciting way to reinvent your style, but it also comes with some challenges. From personal experience, maintaining blue hair—especially over lace fronts—can be quite demanding. The color tends to fade quickly, requiring frequent touch-ups that can be time-consuming and costly. On top of that, lace fronts, while great for versatility and a natural look, often need careful handling to avoid damage and discomfort. One important tip I learned is to invest in high-quality lace front wigs and use gentle, color-safe shampoos and conditioners to extend the life of both the wig and the vibrant hair color. It’s also essential to give your natural hair a break between color treatments to prevent dryness and breakage. Although the upkeep isn't for everyone, blue hair is undeniably fun to experiment with once in a while if you’re willing to put in the effort. In my case, after trying the bright blue look, I realized I prefer the simplicity and lower maintenance of my natural hair color. Lace fronts and harsh chemical colors just weren’t worth the hassle long-term.
