First carve on the new Redline CNC controller

I'm carving the Redline CNC and the Onefinity CNC Logos on this piece of baltic birch plywood that has a black water based stain on the surface. This is really just a test carve, but will find a nice place to live on the wall above the Onefinity.

... Read moreWow, getting my hands on the new Redline CNC controller has been a game-changer! After unboxing, the first thing I noticed was how well-built it felt – sturdy and professional. I was a bit nervous about the setup, as sometimes these things can be tricky, but I found the instructions pretty straightforward. Connecting it to my Onefinity CNC was surprisingly smooth. I spent some time checking all the cables and making sure everything was secure – you don't want any wobbles when you're about to make your first carve! For this initial test, I wanted something that would really show off what the Redline could do, especially with finer details. That’s why I chose to carve the Redline CNC and Onefinity CNC logos. Why logos? Because they often have specific lines and curves that really test a machine’s precision. I opted for baltic birch plywood because it’s known for its stability and fine grain, which makes for super clean cuts. The black water-based stain was a stylistic choice – I love the contrast it creates when the natural wood is revealed by the carving. It really makes the design pop! When it came to setting up the CNC to execute the carve, I took my time with the CAM software. Double-checking tool paths, feed rates, and depth of cut is crucial for a successful first run. I always advise starting with a slow, shallow pass just to confirm your zero points and scaling before committing to the full carve. I started with a conservative speed just to see how the Redline controller would handle it. And let me tell you, it was impressive! The motor control felt incredibly precise, and there was hardly any chatter. It really makes a difference when you're trying to get those crisp edges, especially on intricate designs. For anyone thinking about upgrading or getting into CNC, I’d definitely recommend looking into the redline cnc controller. While I won't go into specific pricing here, I felt the features and performance justified the investment. It’s not just about the redline cnc controller price but the overall value it adds to your projects through reliability and precision. If you're using a onefinity redline controller setup or considering that combination, this controller feels like a natural, powerful upgrade that unlocks new potential. My next project? I’m thinking about some custom signage for my workshop, maybe even trying some more complex 3D carving. The possibilities feel endless, and I’m really excited to push the limits of what this setup can do! What are your favorite materials to carve on your CNC?

A pile of various pumpkins, predominantly orange with one large white pumpkin, are displayed outdoors. The image features a bold text overlay that reads, "DON'T CARVE YOUR PUMPKINS!!!"
An orange pumpkin, decorated with a cheerful, cartoon-like face drawn in black and green, sits on a wooden table. Two small, yellow-green gourds flank the pumpkin. The text overlay says, "Draw on them instead!"
