Homemade Strawberry Recipe

Homemade strawberry marshmallows 🤩🍓

Ingredients:

— 3 packets of unflavored gelatin (3/4 oz total)

— 1 cup water

— 1 cup corn syrup

— 1 1/2 cups sugar

— 1 tbs vanilla

— crushed freeze dried strawberries (optional)

to prepare the pan: non-stick cooking spray, powdered sugar, corn starch

how-to:

1. Add 1/2 cup water and the gelatin to a bowl. Whisk and set aside.

2. Add the other 1/2 cup of water, corn syrup, and sugar to a pan over medium heat. Keep an eye on it, and gently stir a bit to keep the sugar from sticking to the edges. Continue to heat until it starts to bubble and reaches 235-240˚F.

3. Let it cool for a few minutes, and then add to the water and gelatin mixture.

4. Beat on high speed until it becomes smooth, glossy, and white — about 10 minutes. Once it reaches this point, add the vanilla and mix for a few more seconds.

5. If you would like to do a strawberry layer, split in half and add a handful of crushed freeze-dried strawberries to one half.

6. To prepare the pan, spray with nonstick spray and sprinkle with a mixture of corn starch and powdered sugar.

7. Add the marshmallows to the pan, and let sit for at least 6 hours until set.
