How many months have we been together?
What started as a light (to moderate) scandal has turned into the literal best version of my life I could have ever hoped for. This man is the only person I have ever known who exclusively says “yes, and!” to every element of my chaotic self.
I worked to support us through his grad school career. We worked soul sucking corporate jobs together to build up our world enough for our children to have secure futures. He’s now working to support my art career which I literally could not do without him.
He’s an incredible partner in literally every part of my world. I pulled him out of his quiet, neat, orderly, well behaved life and threw all kinds of chaos, mess and disorder at him. He not only rolled with it but has encouraged me at every single point. The women in my family may be responsible for my audacity, but this man of mine has protected and stoked that flame at every given opportunity. (And likely thrown unnecessary fuel onto it for the fun of it when it suits him. But what good is marrying all that aggressive energy if you don’t use it to your advantage every now and again?)
