Snowed in for 4 days ☹️❄️❄️
These past, 4 now almost 5 days have been so rough! I just wanna get out, and go somewhere! Haha. Grwm for absolutely nothing, while doing my morning skincare routine! 💙😌 #gettingready #winternightroutine #winterselfcare
Being snowed in for days, especially like I am on 'Day 4 of being snowed in,' can honestly feel a bit overwhelming. After a while, even my usual 'Grwm for absolutely nothing' routine, which usually helps me feel put together, doesn't quite fill the whole day! It's easy to fall into a rut when you can't leave the house, so I've been trying to brainstorm ways to make these forced cozy days more enjoyable and productive, rather than just waiting for the thaw. Beyond my morning skincare, I've found a few simple things that really help lift my spirits and keep cabin fever at bay. One big one is creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. I love lighting some candles, putting on a calm playlist, and snuggling up with a good book. It’s amazing how much a change of scenery, even if it’s just moving from the couch to a comfy armchair, can make a difference. I've also been getting into some indoor hobbies I usually don't have time for. Think knitting, journaling, or even trying out a new recipe. Baking cookies or a hearty stew not only fills the house with delicious smells but also gives you something tangible to focus on. For extra self-care, a long, warm bath with essential oils or a deep conditioning hair mask can feel like a mini-spa day right at home. Staying active, even indoors, is super important too. A quick online yoga session, a bit of stretching, or even just dancing to my favorite songs helps burn off some restless energy and gets the blood flowing. And let's not forget about connecting with others! A video call with friends or family can really brighten a snow day. Sharing stories, laughing, and just seeing familiar faces reminds you that you're not completely isolated. Sometimes, even just a quick text exchange can make a difference when you're 'being snowed in.' Another thing I've been doing is using this time to declutter. It's not the most glamorous activity, but tackling a drawer, a closet, or even just organizing digital files can be surprisingly satisfying and makes me feel like I’ve accomplished something meaningful with my unexpected free time. And of course, there’s always the classic movie marathon or diving into a new TV series! I’ve found it’s helpful to balance screen time with other activities, maybe even planning a digital detox for a few hours. The key, I’ve found, is to have a mix of activities – some for relaxation, some for productivity, and some just for pure enjoyment. It helps break up the monotony of 'being snowed in' and stops you from just staring out the window wishing you were somewhere else.
