Reasons I’m Choosing to Freebirth at Home
I’ve given birth 6 times. 2 medicated hospital births, 3 unmedicated hospital births and 1 free birth. I learned different things from each experience and I’m due to give birth in January, so I’m sure I’ll learn more from this one. But what sticks out the most to me is how much more at ease I was during my free birth. I was able to really make and honor my birth wishes. It’s remarkable how well I was able to feel my intuition and instincts kick in while in such a peaceful state. My body spoke to me and told me what to do, and I listened.
I didn’t augment my labor in any way. I waited for my body to push on its own. I didn’t rush to pull on my placenta, so the delivery was faster, and I didn’t manually break my water. My baby was born alert and nursed immediately. Her cord wasn’t cut until it was white and floppy.
I was able to move around and sway through the surges. I ate nourishing foods to keep up my energy and stayed hydrated. I took advantage of the warm water in my shower to help with pain management and used the bathroom freely.
It was amazing and I’ve never felt more powerful. I can’t wait to do it again, next year!!!

I’ve done 3 homebirth but I don’t think personally I’d do freebirth. I like having that extra support
