Sketchbook Pages
Which of the sketchbook pages did you like the most? 🎨
I’ve been meaning to share this for a while, but I’m just now getting around to showing you what’s been inside my sketchbook lately. My art has definitely been a bit sporadic as of late, but I kind of like that it reflects wherever my head is at in the moment.
Some pages feel more finished, others are just quick ideas or experiments, but I’m learning to stop overthinking what “counts” as a sketchbook page.
Do you prefer white paper or black paper? I’m still torn depending on what I’m trying to create. 👀

Sketchbooks are truly a window into an artist’s evolving thoughts and inspirations. Whenever I open mine, I see not just sketches but a timeline of ideas, emotions, and experiments. One thing I've realized over time is the importance of embracing imperfection and spontaneity in my sketchbook pages — not every drawing needs to be a masterpiece. Sometimes, quick doodles or rough concepts are the most valuable because they capture raw creativity without pressure. Another interesting aspect is the choice of paper color. I’ve noticed that white paper often inspires me to work with vibrant colors and fine detail, while black paper challenges me to think differently, using lighter tones or even metallic colors to make the art pop. This contrast affects the mood of each piece and pushes me to explore new techniques. For artists or hobbyists looking to develop their creative practice, I recommend spending time regularly with a sketchbook without self-judgment. Treat each page as a playground for ideas rather than a final product. This mindset shift can alleviate creative blocks and make the process enjoyable. Also, experimenting with different mediums — pencils, inks, pastels — on various backgrounds can keep your art practice fresh and exciting. Lastly, sharing your sketchbook work, like I’m doing now, connects you with a community who can appreciate your journey and offer feedback or encouragement. The hashtags #Sketchbook, #ArtProcess, and #CreativeJourney are great ways to join these conversations and find inspiration from others. Remember, your sketchbook is uniquely yours, a reflection of your artistic journey and growth — so enjoy every page!
