Hair tip (short or long):
Hair powder - some are called volumizing powder or texturizing powder
They are amazing because they give you texture and hold and insane volume without weighing your hair down like so many gels, pomades, sprays, mousses, etc. Those are great for so many things too! But for volume, texture and hold…give hair powder a go 😊
I currently use @Tribal Chimp they are super affordable and sold on Amazon or TikTok shop
@Aveda also has a great one, @SexyHair and Beyond The Zone (I always bought this one at @Sally Beauty)
Do you have a favorite? I’m always game for trying others! Also, a little goes a long way. For long hair, I always use at the roots for volume. All over for updos. Short hair I use it all over! 🫶

In my personal experience, incorporating hair powder into my styling routine has been a total game-changer, especially when I want a natural-looking volume without the sticky or heavy feel that comes with many gels or sprays. One key tip I've learned is to apply hair powder sparingly—just a small amount goes a long way in creating root lift and texture. For those with longer hair, focusing the powder at the roots helps give your hair that much-needed bounce, while an all-over application works wonders for styling chic updos. When I have my pixie cut, I love dusting the powder throughout to add grip and definition, helping my hair hold its shape all day without looking weighed down or greasy. Brands like Tribal Chimp offer affordable options that are easily available online, and they deliver impressive hold with a lightweight finish. Likewise, quality brands such as Aveda and Sexy Hair provide products with great ingredients that nourish as well as volumize. I also found Beyond The Zone at Sally Beauty very reliable for adding texture during special occasions. What truly makes hair powder stand out for me is not just volume, but the natural matte texture it imparts, perfect for crafting effortless, tousled looks. It’s particularly ideal for those who dislike the stiffness that traditional styling products create. Plus, it’s a fantastic choice for keeping your hair looking fresh and voluminous between washes. If you’re new to hair powders, start with tiny amounts and build gradually to avoid product buildup. Also, using your fingers or a wide-tooth comb to distribute the powder helps achieve a more natural finish. Combining hair powder with other styling tools like blow dryers or curling irons can further enhance volume and style longevity. Overall, hair powders are versatile styling tools that work wonderfully across hair types and lengths, making them an essential addition to your hair care arsenal for effortless volume, hold, and texture without the mess of gels and pomades.
