การคัดแยกขยะไม่ใช่เพียงแค่เรื่องของการทิ้งขยะให้ถูกถังเท่านั้น แต่ยังเป็นการแสดงความรับผิดชอบต่อสังคมและโลกของเราด้วย ในชีวิตประจำวัน ผมพบว่าการมีถังขยะแยกประเภทที่บ้านเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นที่ดีมาก ก่อนหน้านี้ผมเคยทิ้งขยะทั้งหมดรวมกัน จนได้เรียนรู้ว่าขยะบางอย่างอย่างขวดพลาสติกหรือกระดาษ ถ้าไม่แยกจะทำให้รีไซเคิลไม่ได้ ทำให้เสียโอกาสในการนำไปใช้ใหม่ และเพิ่มปริมาณขยะที่ต้องเผาหรือฝังกลบ สำหรับขยะเปียก เช่น เศษอาหารและเปลือกผักผลไม้ ผมเริ่มทำปุ๋ยหมักที่บ้าน ใช้ภาชนะหมักขยะอินทรีย์ ผลลัพธ์คือได้ปุ๋ยคุณภาพดีไว้ใช้ปลูกต้นไม้ และลดขยะไปได้มากขึ้น นอกจากนี้ ขยะอันตรายอย่างถ่านไฟฉายหรือหลอดไฟ ควรเก็บแยกและนำไปทิ้งในจุดรับกำจัดพิเศษ เพราะหากทิ้งลงขยะทั่วไป อาจทำให้เกิดอันตรายกับคนเก็บขยะและสิ่งแวดล้อม การคัดแยกขยะแบบนี้ยังสะดวกหากทุกคนร่วมมือกัน เริ่มต้นง่าย ๆ ที่บ้านและส่งเสริมให้คนรอบตัวรับรู้และลงมือทำด้วย สิ่งนี้จะช่วยลดปริมาณขยะในชุมชน ลดปัญหามลพิษทางสิ่งแวดล้อม และยังช่วยให้ขยะที่มีค่าถูกนำกลับมาใช้ใหม่ได้อย่างถูกวิธี ดังนั้น การแยกขยะไม่ใช่ภาระหนัก แต่เป็นเรื่องเล็ก ๆ ที่ทำได้ทุกวัน และสร้างผลดีอย่างยิ่งใหญ่ต่อโลกของเราอย่างแท้จริง
