WORDS have Power !
🗣️ They told us “words can’t hurt you.”
📖 But Proverbs 18:21 says otherwise…
Your tongue holds the power of life and death.
What you speak shapes your spirit. Shapes your world.
Speak LIFE. Cancel the LIE.

I remember growing up, we all chanted the classic rhyme, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me." It was supposed to be a shield, a way to dismiss the sting of hurtful comments. But honestly? That was one of the biggest lies I ever believed. My own experience, and what I've learned from Proverbs 18:21, has shown me just how profoundly untrue that really is. "Death and life are in the power of the tongue." This verse from Proverbs 18:21 isn't just a religious saying; it's a profound truth about how our reality is shaped. I've realized that the words we speak, both to others and to ourselves, are like seeds. Think about it: if you constantly tell yourself you're not good enough, or that a situation is impossible, you're planting seeds of doubt and limitation. And what kind of harvest can you expect from those? Conversely, when I started intentionally speaking life – affirming my capabilities, declaring hope over challenges, and focusing on gratitude – I saw a remarkable shift in my mindset and circumstances. It's not always easy to change those ingrained patterns. I used to be my own harshest critic, and sometimes, those negative thoughts would slip out as negative words. But the OCR text wisely reminds us, "STOP SAYING STUFF OVER YOURSELF GOD NEVER SAID." This hit me hard. Why would I declare something untrue or limiting over my own life when I'm called to speak life? Our words literally have the power to build or bury. I’ve seen how an encouraging word can lift someone’s spirit and empower them to achieve something they thought impossible. And sadly, I’ve also witnessed how harsh, critical words can crush a person's spirit, leaving scars far deeper than any physical wound. My mouth truly is a weapon, as the OCR highlights. And like any weapon, it can be used for destruction or construction. Learning to wield it for good means being intentional. It means pausing before I speak, especially when I'm frustrated or tired. It means actively choosing to #SpeakLife, not just in big declarations, but in the small, daily affirmations. When faced with a challenging task, instead of saying, "This is too hard," I try to reframe it to, "I'm capable of learning and overcoming this." This isn't just positive thinking; it's recognizing the inherent creative power that words carry. They don't just express thoughts; they often create reality. So, let's choose to plant seeds of life, hope, and positivity with every word we utter, allowing them to build a better world, one truthful utterance at a time.
