🤰🏾🖤 Why I Fear Having A Daughter… 🖤🤰🏾

🖤 This might truly be one of my most realistic deepest fears, and it’s having a daughter. Not because I wouldn’t love her with my entire heart, but because I know what this world can be like for Black girls.

From a young age, we’re often sexualized before we even understand what that means, judged more harshly, and labeled in ways that strip away innocence (e.g., she’s so “fast”, “grown”, or “too much”). It’s heartbreaking to think about how many of us had to grow up quick simply because of how we looked, not who we were.

Then there’s the physical side of things. I have dysmenorrhea (severe menstrual pain), and I can’t help but worry about passing that down. The thought of my daughter struggling with the same unbearable cramps, nausea, anger at times, and exhaustion… it just hurts a lot to consider. 💔

I know I’d raise her to be strong, confident, and deeply loved, but it doesn’t erase the fear of how the world might treat her. Don’t get me started on raising a Black son… matter of fact… maybe I should. Stay tuned dammit.

💬 For those who want children, do you ever think about the things you fear passing on, emotionally or physically? And for my fellow Black women, how do you cope with the fear of raising a daughter in a world that often misunderstands us?

🫂 This is a safe space to share and unpack those thoughts together. 🖤

Yes I have my tonic buckle dystrophy it’s a 50/50 of my children getting it but growing up with is is hard. Sometimes I just want to scream it makes everything harder. I also have really bad cramps to where I’m bed ridden don’t want her to get that then scoliosis on top of that. I honestly might just get an egg doner

Our black girls are disappearing at a very high rate, often times not as publicized saying they are run away, when all actually they are truly victims of this cruel world. I pray for all women, though we are strong minded, we can't still often times be over powered by a man especially one that has been stalking you and you are unaware of it, ladies always be aware of your surroundings, take that cell phone off of your shoulder so that your hands are readily available and always have some type of protection on you, your keys can become a weapon when you find yourself with nothing else. Stay alert ‼️

Why does God say to “Fear his wrath”?📖
If God is so good to us and died for our sins then why would he want us to fear him? I used to ask this very question to myself and several times I would ask God while in prayer. For years I just thought he meant to fear hell, fear eternity with the devil. I couldn’t have been more wrong!
