I want to be honest that this one is harder for me to write than most of my posts.
I do not know how to fully describe what it is like to have something left in your afternoon if you have forgotten what that feels like. It is not just not being tired. It is being present. Actually engaging with the second half of your day instead of just surviving it and waiting for it to be over.
For so long I was a different version of myself by 3pm than I was at 9am. Shorter with my girls. Less patient. Going through the motions of the evening instead of actually being in it. And I had stopped questioning whether that was just who I was by the end of every day.
It was not who I was. It was depletion that had become so normalized I stopped recognizing it as a problem.
Taking gut-brain support with my lunch is the thing that gave that back to me. Not dramatically. Not overnight. But consistently and in a way that means I actually show up differently by dinnertime now than I used to.
That is the whole reason I keep talking about this. Because feeling like myself again by the end of the day was not something I thought I would get back.
Comment JUICE and I'll share exactly what I drink at lunch and what it does 🌸
Feeling depleted by mid-afternoon is something many of us experience but often overlook as a normal part of the day. From my personal journey, what truly made a difference was addressing the gut-brain connection — a health aspect that's increasingly recognized for its impact on energy and mood. By incorporating gut-brain support supplements into my lunchtime routine, I noticed a subtle yet consistent shift. It wasn’t an immediate transformation, but gradually, I found myself less exhausted and more present during the latter half of the day. This meant being more patient and engaged with my family rather than just going through the motions. From experience, supporting gut health can improve nutrient absorption and reduce inflammation, which influences brain function and energy levels. This holistic approach helped me reconnect with my natural rhythm and gave me something left in the afternoon — not just the absence of tiredness but a genuine feeling of presence. If you’ve been feeling drained by 3 pm, it might be worth exploring how gut-brain support could play a role in restoring your daily vitality and helping you show up as your best self, especially in those precious evening moments.
