Monster cookies are a delightful treat combining the best of many favorite ingredients into one soft, chewy cookie. These particular homemade chewy soft monster cookies stand out because of the rich peanut butter base, a blend of crunchy and creamy for texture and flavor variety. Using both white and brown sugar adds depth and a subtle caramel note that balances the sweetness. Including oats in the recipe not only contributes to the chewy texture but also adds a wholesome element that contrasts nicely with the mini M&M’s and semi-sweet chocolate chips, making each bite exciting and flavorful. The use of Karo syrup acts as an additional moistening agent, helping these cookies remain soft instead of turning crisp. For baking, maintaining the oven temperature at 350°F and baking for 10-12 minutes ensures the cookies cook through without drying out. Rolling the dough into 2-tablespoon balls keeps the portion sizes consistent, resulting in evenly baked cookies that are soft inside with slight crisp edges. If the dough feels dry during mixing, hand mixing helps incorporate ingredients better, ensuring the oats and mix-ins are evenly distributed for the perfect texture. This recipe is versatile—you can experiment by swapping mini M&Ms for other candies or nuts, or adjusting the peanut butter ratios to your preference. Monster cookies are especially popular during holidays or events, bringing a nostalgic and comforting feel to any gathering. They are an excellent option for those who want a homemade cookie that’s easy to prepare yet packed with variety and texture. Enjoy making these monster cookies on special occasions or whenever you crave a chewy, indulgent snack that’s loaded with flavorful mix-ins.
