東京都庁展望室は、東京観光や地元の人にも愛される絶好のビュースポットです。実際に訪れてみると、無料でこれほどの眺望を楽しめる場所はなかなかありません。春 霞や夏の湿度が高い日に訪れると少し視界がぼんやりすることもありますが、秋冬の快晴の日は富士山をはじめ、東京タワーやスカイツリーなど東京のランドマークが美しく見えます。 訪問の際は1階の専用エレベーターを利用しますが、週末や連休は待ち時間が長くなることも。私は友人と休日に行った際、午後の混雑を避け午前中早めに到着したのでスムーズでした。また、展示室内には東京の名産品を扱うギフトショップや、窓際のカフェもあり、景色を眺めながらくつろぐことができます。これも無料展望スポットの魅力の一つです。 さらに、展望室の一角に草間彌生氏監修のストリートピアノが設置されていて、音楽と眺望を同時に楽しめるユニークな体験も。夜景を楽しむなら南展望室がおすすめで、日没後の東京の煌めきを堪能できます。なお、天候や安全管理の都合で観覧が急遽中止される場合もあるため、事前に東京都庁の公式サイトで最新情報を確認することが重要です。 都営大江戸線「都庁前駅」から直結でアクセスも良いため、新宿駅から徒歩で訪れることも簡単。無料ということを考えれば、都心にいながらこの絶景を気軽に味わえるのは貴重な体験です。私も何度か訪れていますが、そのたびに違った表情の東京の景色を楽しめるので、ぜひ季節を変えて何度も訪れてみてほしいスポットです。
