Starting my sisterlocks journey has been such an exhilarating step, and I'm so excited to share all about it! My consultant took so much care, sectioning my natural hair into incredibly small, precise parts and using a special interlocking tool. It took several hours, but seeing the transformation from loose natural hair to these tiny, perfect sisterlocks was absolutely mesmerizing. It's truly a labor of love, and the foundation they build is crucial for healthy locs down the line. Once they're in, you enter what many call the 'infant stage' or 'beginning stages' of sisterlocks. Don't be surprised if your short beginner sisterlocks look a little different than the mature locs you see on Pinterest. Mine were a bit stiff at first, and sometimes felt a little 'messy' as they settled in. This is totally normal! They're still learning to lock, and some frizz is to be expected. The key is patience. Even with short beginner sisterlocks, there are still some fun sisterlocks styles you can try! I've been experimenting with simple headbands, scarves, and even tiny ponytails or pigtails. It’s amazing how versatile they are, even at this early stage. I'm looking forward to growing them out and trying more elaborate styles in the future, like updos and curls.
