You CAN be “fired” by your doctor!
In Ontario, there are different organizations that provide financial incentives to family doctors based on their roster. Some of these organizations will penalize the doctor of their patient goes to a walk-in.

And yes, you can be discharged (dropped/fired) if you continue to go to a walk-in instead of using their services because they’re continuously being penalized and it doesn’t look good for them!
This is typically a last resort and not something that happens just because you went once or few times in a pinch.
