🎧 My playlist has zero rules
Who TF put this on?! 😂🎶
Me the second a late '80s or '90s country song comes on.... suddenly I'm singing every word.
Fun fact: I actually lived in Nashville during 1st grade, while my dad was playing baseball, and I went to Cole Elementary. Maybe that's why classic country will always have a special place in my heart since my mother gravitated to it aaaand moved back to Nashville before cancer robbed her.
My playlist has absolutely no rules—classic country, '90s hip~hop and everything, rock, pop.... if it makes me smile, it's staying. 🤠❤️

I’ve always believed that music is a personal journey, and having a playlist with no strict genre rules just makes it more fun and meaningful. For me, songs from late ’80s and ’90s classic country are especially powerful, not only because of their melodies but because of the memories they evoke. Growing up with a connection to Nashville and hearing those heartfelt stories in songs by The Judds or other classic country legends made me appreciate how music can shape our identity. But what makes a playlist truly special is mixing it up—adding some ’90s hip-hop, a bit of rock, or even pop classics that just put a smile on your face. This blend reflects real life: diverse, unpredictable, and full of surprises. It’s like a soundtrack to our unique journeys, reminding us of good times and lifting us up during tough moments. Especially as a mom balancing humor-filled, coffee-powered days, having tunes that span genres keeps me energized and connected to my roots and passions. Whether I’m singing along to a country ballad or nodding to a hip-hop beat, it’s about the joy music brings and sharing that with others who appreciate it too. If you’re someone who still knows every word to a late ’80s or ’90s country song or just loves a playlist that breaks all the rules, I’d say keep holding onto those tracks. They remind us of who we are and where we come from—and sometimes, that’s exactly what the heart needs.
