Book Overview (but for real, let me break it down):

This ain’t some rulebook or rigid religion talk. This is about remembering who you are and where you come from. It’s a spiritual homecoming. In this book, I walk you through:

• How to really tap into your power—with steps you can actually use to honor your ancestors, set intentions, and build rituals that feed your soul daily.

• The truth they never taught us—we talkin’ African spirituality before colonization, the Orishas, and how our magic never died.

• Bible breakdowns from a real place—not that churchy judgment stuff, but the power of Psalms, prayers, and affirmations that protect and uplift no matter where you stand.

• Our magic in full color—because being Black is divine, and this book celebrates the strength, beauty, and spiritual fire in our melanin.

• Words that hold weight—I close it out with affirmations and prayers to keep you grounded, protected, and in your bag, spiritually and emotionally.

This book is raw. It’s real. And it’s all love. If you’ve been feeling that call to reclaim your power, your roots, and your divine self—baby, this is it. Don’t sleep on your spirit. You been divine. Now it’s time to remember just how powerful you really are.

... Read moreHey spiritual fam! I've been on such a journey lately, really diving deep into what it means to be 'Rooted in Spirit.' It's more than just reading a book; it's about reclaiming a part of yourself that society often tries to make you forget. For so long, I felt a disconnect, like something was missing from my spiritual life. But honestly, once I started exploring the rich tapestry of Black spirituality, everything began to shift. It's been an incredible experience learning how our forebears navigated life with such deep faith and connection, no matter the circumstances. One of the biggest eye-openers for me has been understanding the incredible power of ancestral connection. It's not about being stuck in the past, but about drawing strength, wisdom, and guidance from those who came before us. I've been experimenting with simple ways to honor my ancestors – it could be as easy as lighting a candle, offering a glass of water, or just spending a quiet moment reflecting on their resilience and love. It truly feels like tapping into a wellspring of support that's always there, waiting for me to acknowledge it. This practice has brought so much peace and a sense of belonging into my life. And for anyone wondering about 'spiritual powers,' it's not always about grand, mystical acts as seen in movies. Often, it's about cultivating your inner strength and intuition, and recognizing the innate abilities we all possess. For me, that looks like trusting my gut feelings more, practicing self-love fiercely, and using daily affirmations to reshape my mindset. It's about honing your discernment, developing a powerful sense of resilience, and manifesting your desires through focused intention. The concept of the 'divine nature of melanin' really resonates here – understanding that our very being, our beautiful skin, is sacred and powerful. It's about recognizing the inherent magic within us, a magic that survived centuries of challenges and continues to thrive. I've also been fascinated by African spirituality, like learning about the Orishas. It's opened my eyes to different ways of understanding the divine and how it manifests in the world. These ancient traditions offer such profound wisdom about nature, community, and the human spirit. This isn't about rigid rules, but about finding practices that feed my soul and bring me closer to my authentic self. Whether it's through prayer, meditation, connecting with nature, or learning about traditional herbal remedies, the goal is always to cultivate that inner peace and power. It's been a journey of remembering who I am and where I come from, celebrating the strength and beauty in our traditions. And it's truly transformative. If you're feeling that same call to reclaim your power and explore the depths of Black spirituality, know that you're not alone. There are so many beautiful resources out there, and the journey itself is the most powerful experience you can embark on. It’s about building a spiritual foundation that’s uniquely yours, one that honors your past while empowering your future.
