Expat life in the uae 🇦🇪
There is something unique about being an expat in the UAE.
Living here has shown me what stability (even during the hardest move we’ve ever done) looks like in real time…
what leadership looks like when safety, infrastructure, and order are not afterthoughts…
what it means to feel protected even in times of uncertainty…
what community group chats of people from different faiths and backgrounds look like supporting one another whether they’re scared, tired, or need anything (and I mean anything at all)…
The UAE is so much more than just skylines and ambition.
I didn’t grow up here. But even in just under a year, I have grown here.
I am deeply grateful for the leaders who have built a country where people from every corner of the world can live peacefully, work freely with endless opportunities, and feel secure despite the unrest at the moment.
Being an expat changes you. It teaches you that home is not only where you’re from, but also where you are cared for and given the space to thrive.
I understand that many will not understand. But the gulf truly is a special place and I feel honored to have the experience living here.
Prayers for all involved right now. 🙏

*personal update: we were on our way back to the UAE from Australia and the events occurred while on our layover.
Thank you all for your messages.
We look forward to coming back to our Abu Dhabi / Dubai home when it is safely possible to do so, which is hopefully as soon as possible 🫶
