From my personal experience, the hardest part is overcoming that initial mental barrier — the reluctance to go and the desire to quit as soon as you start. When I first started going to the gym, I hated every second of it. The exercises felt tough, my energy was low, and I often found myself thinking, "Don't wanna go," but somehow, the thought of becoming slim and healthier kept pulling me back. I realized that discomfort is part of growth and that consistency beats motivation alone. The key is to celebrate small victories — like making your way through a workout even when it's tough, or simply showing up. Using motivational mantras and remembering why you started helps a lot. I also found community support useful, especially places like Planet Fitness, where a welcoming and judgment-free environment makes the process less intimidating. Building healthy habits requires patience and resilience. Every time I felt like giving up, I reminded myself “I’m here now,” pushing through to complete the session. Over time, the gym visits became less dreadful and even rewarding. Fitness motivation stems from this sense of achievement and improved well-being. If you’re struggling, keep in mind that it’s completely normal to dislike the effort in the beginning. The important part is not to give up but to keep showing up. Embrace the journey, and soon you’ll find the parts you once hated turning into the moments you look forward to. Remember, it’s okay to have days when you don’t feel like going, but commitment will ultimately lead to success.
