Books I ignored in college & regret now

Remember those dusty books on my college bookshelf? The ones I swore I'd read “someday”? Yeah, well, “someday” is here, and I'm kicking myself for not cracking them open sooner.

Turns out, those pages held insights I desperately needed back then - about history, the human spirit, dreams, relationships, effectiveness, creativity, even my own introvert self. It's like I was handed a treasure map to a richer, more meaningful life, and I left to buried under a pile of textbooks.

I'm sharing my #bookish redemption arc, not to shame my younger self (okay, maybe a little), but to remind you, don't sleep on those books you've been meaning to read. They might just change everything.

What books have YOU ignored?

... Read moreIn the hustle of college life, many students overlook valuable literature that can profoundly influence their perspectives. Books like 'Sapiens' by Yuval Noah Harari provide insight into human history and evolution, prompting self-reflection. Similarly, 'The Alchemist' by Paulo Coelho inspires readers to pursue their dreams and listen to their hearts, teaching valuable lessons about personal destiny. Moreover, Anne Lamott's 'Bird by Bird' offers practical advice on writing and life, stressing the importance of taking things one step at a time. 'Man's Search for Meaning' by Viktor Frankl dives deep into the human experience and the quest for purpose even in the face of suffering. Such literature is not merely academic but resonates with life's essential truths. Reflecting on these works can catalyze transformative experiences and growth. Don't let these powerful narratives collect dust! What books have changed your outlook, or which have you been meaning to pick up? Let's share and learn together.

Books I ignored in college & regret now
Back in college, I had a very specific reading strategy: avoid anything that looked remotely like a textbook (because I already had enough textbook waiting to be read people!). If it wasn’t a novel or something I had to read for class, I just… ignored it. And honestly? I played myself. These boo
