👀 We started with a granite tile... now it’s our entire BTO color palette!

When we started planning the mood board for our new BTO flat, everyone kept pointing us toward Japandi and Scandinavian styles because we liked the zen vibe. And while they look gorgeous, they just didn’t feel like us.

We wanted a soothing, nature-inspired vibe—but with a twist!

Our Lightbulb Moment? 💡 It all clicked when we fell in love with a stunning granite tile. Instead of the usual light woods and beiges, that tile inspired us to go all in on a palette of cool grey-blues and earthy greens. 🌊🍃

🎨 Our Mood Board Recipe:

The Anchor: Deep, textured granite tones

The Atmosphere: Soothing ocean grey-blue

The Freshness: Muted botanical greens

It’s proof that you don't have to follow the trends to create a space that feels like home. Trust your gut (and your favorite tiles)!

... Read moreIn my recent home renovation journey, I found the most inspiring starting point came from the materials themselves — especially the granite tile. Initially, I was drawn to Japandi and Scandinavian styles due to their popular zen vibes, but these palettes felt a bit generic for my taste. When I came across a granite tile with deep grey-blue marbling, it sparked an idea to pivot towards a more customized, nature-inspired scheme. Drawing from the tile’s unique hues, I incorporated ocean grey-blue tones and muted botanical greens throughout my living spaces. This created a calming, fresh ambiance that feels cohesive and grounded. In the living room, I paired cream walls with coastal blue marble flooring, complemented by grey and blue furniture accented with green cushions — echoing the tile’s essence. The kitchen contrasts with grey-white backsplashes and olive green cabinetry topped with brown and cream counters and golden handles, adding warmth and a touch of luxury. Using these colours not only elevates the look but also breaks away from conventional palettes. It’s proof that choosing elements that resonate personally can redefine your home design. Moreover, the textural complexity of granite adds depth and tactile interest, making your space multi-dimensional. For anyone planning their BTO or renovation, I recommend starting with a statement material that speaks to you. Build your mood board around that rather than following fleeting trends. This approach ensures the space truly feels yours — comfortable, stylish, and timeless. Trusting your gut, guided by unique materials like granite tiles, can transform your home into a serene retreat that reflects your personality.
