Silence Isn’t Always A Weakness
Silence isn’t always weakness…
But it isn’t always a show of strength either.
Because a lot of people learn how to stay quiet~
But for completely different reasons.
Some stay quiet because they’re healing.
Some because they’re thinking.
Some because they’ve learned...
Not everything deserves a reaction.
Or voice.
While others stay quiet~
Because they’re avoiding. Because they’re afraid. Because speaking honestly~
Would force them to confront something they’re not ready to face.
And that’s where things become complicated.
Because externally~
Both versions can look the same.
Calm.
Reserved.
Unbothered.
But internally…
One is peace.
The other is suppression.
One comes from understanding yourself.
The other comes from trying not to disturb...
What you’re wanting to keep buried.
And over time~
A lot of people often confuse emotional absence...
With emotional control.
Not realizing~
Silence can either help you process somethings…
Or help you hide from it.
Depending on the reasons why you’re using it.
That’s why self-awareness matters.
Because maturity isn’t just learning how, or when to stay quiet.
It’s understanding~
When silence is protecting your peace~
And when it’s abedding in your avoidance.
Because getting your MES... together~
Requires more than learning how to hold things in.
Sometimes it requires recognizing~
What your silence has been trying not to say.
