Sketches
I woke up early today and couldn’t go back to sleep, so.. I made some coffee and got to sketching. I used a black liner and added a bit of a green pencil. I think it looks kind of fun!

Starting my day early with a cup of coffee and a sketchbook has become my favorite creative ritual. Using a black liner to outline adds sharp definition to the sketches, while a subtle touch of green pencil introduces a fresh, unexpected element. This color combination gives the artwork a unique vibrancy without overwhelming the simplicity of linework. In my experience, sketching spontaneously in the quiet morning hours helps me unlock creativity that often feels elusive later in the day. The calm environment encourages experimentation, such as blending traditional black ink with colored pencil highlights. Green, in particular, evokes a natural and calming vibe that harmonizes well with bold black lines. If you’re looking to enhance your sketchbook practice, try varying your tools and colors like this. Use black liner for clear, sharp outlines and add colored pencils for depth and visual interest. This mix makes your pages pop and keeps the drawing process engaging. Engaging with art forums and hashtag communities like #sketching, #sketchesoftheweek, and #sketchbookdoodles opens doors to inspiration and feedback. Sharing your sketches with others invites dialogue and development. I encourage fellow artists to rise early, brew their favorite morning drink, and dive into a quick sketch session. It’s a wonderful way to boost your artistic mood and build a rewarding habit.
