Topic: Apostle Paul describes an experience he had, and how God's grace is sufficient for him. The passage also includes Paul's response to false teachers who claimed he wasn't as spiritual as he said he was.

A reminder from the Holy Spirit, He is letting all of us know that His grace is sufficient.

Want to encourage someone not to take God grace for granted like i did from 11 to 26 I did not know that grace was sufficient until I needed it 7/30/99.

Let’s talk about the background.

Paul had an experience where he was taken to the "third heaven" and received a revelation from God.

Paul was given a "thorn in the flesh," which was a malady that the Bible doesn't explicitly explain.

Paul asked God three times to take away the pain of the "thorn in the flesh," but God's response was "My grace is sufficient for you".

Paul was being criticized by false teachers who claimed he wasn't as spiritual as he said he was.

Meaning.

God's grace is sufficient, meaning that God's strength is made perfect in weakness.

God's strength is more evident when we are weak.

We should embrace our weaknesses and allow God to strengthen us.

Paul learned to be content in his suffering, and to rejoice and boast in God.

Conclusion.

2 Corinthians 12:9

Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.

... Read moreWhen I first heard the phrase 'when grace locates you, it breaks protocol,' it truly resonated with my own journey. The original post briefly mentioned how I didn't truly grasp God's sufficient grace until a pivotal moment on 7/30/99. For years, from 11 to 26, I navigated life trying to rely on my own strength, assuming I had to earn God's favor. But that day, something shifted. It was a situation where all my human efforts, all my logic, all 'protocols' failed. I was at my wit's end, feeling utterly powerless. That's when grace intervened, not in the way I expected, but in a way that defied every expectation. It wasn't about God removing a challenge, much like Paul's 'thorn in the flesh' wasn't taken away. Instead, it was an infusion of strength, peace, and clarity that came from an unseen source. It felt like God was saying, 'My power works best in weakness,' and suddenly, I understood. This wasn't about me being strong enough; it was about Him being strong enough through me. This experience mirrored Paul's profound revelation: God’s grace is sufficient, even when the 'protocol' of our human desire is to simply escape the pain. This 'breaking protocol' isn't just about miracles in dramatic circumstances. It's also in the quiet moments: when you find forgiveness for someone you thought you could never forgive, when peace washes over you in a storm of anxiety, or when unexpected provision appears exactly when needed. It's when God’s mercy and grace override what seems impossible or illogical by human standards. It shows up when you least expect it, often when you've exhausted all your own resources and are ready to give up. I've learned to lean into those moments of weakness, to actually embrace them, because that's often when grace performs its most profound work. It’s a beautiful paradox: when we are weakest, His strength is made perfect. The truth is, grace doesn't always follow our blueprints. It doesn't ask for permission from our doubts or limitations. It simply shows up, often unannounced, and rewrites the rules. It makes a way where there seems to be no way, proving that God's power isn't bound by our earthly constraints or the 'protocol' of our circumstances. This journey has taught me to echo the sentiment I often see: 'God, I thank You for Your mercy and Your grace.' It’s a heartfelt thank you for a grace that doesn't just meet you where you are, but actually moves you beyond where you thought you could ever be, defying all the 'protocols' that held you back. If you're feeling overwhelmed, or like you're facing a situation with no human solution, remember that grace is waiting to locate you and break through whatever 'protocol' is holding you captive. Trust in His sufficient power to work in your weakness.
