Day 1 of my fitness journey!

Day 1 of my fitness journey guys!

Currently I am at 241.1 lbs and trying to get to my goal of 180 lbs.

So today..

I ended up forgetting to eat breakfast and ended up doing my morning errands while my boys were at school.

So while grocery shopping I had walked 1 hour at Winco foods and got all my healthy food and snacks for the month.

Then came home and made a taco plate

5 oz of steak

2 oz of sautéed bell peppers and onions

1 cup seasoned brown rice

2 tablespoons of cilantro lime crema from costco

3 cherry tomatoes

3 zero carb tortillas

and of course I love spicy so a little tapatio 😉

Then for dinner kept it simple with Spicy cucumber boats (of course the spicy 😂)

1 cucumber

1 can tuna (drained)

1/8 cup of onions (chopped)

3 pieces Dave’s sweet and spicy pickles (chopped)

1/3 tablespoon mustard

2 tablespoons of mayo (with avocado oil)

1 tablespoon siracha

And to add some crunch

2 servings of pita chips (sorry I am addicted to them!)

My budget for the day is 1630 calories

Counting calories on both meals with out snacking brought me to 1556 in calorie intake

So I was under today.

Plus, I had burned over 300 calories by my simple work out on my vr.

For the first day of my journey I had noticed no cravings due to me asking do I really need it as to if I’m being just being greedy because the snacks are just there?

So far so good and eventually I’m going to incorporate some new workouts and try to find what is right for me.

So come join me on this quest to happiness and a healthier and more productive lifestyle! #fitnessandhealthjourney #gettinghealthier #fitgirljourney #healthyrecipes

... Read moreIt’s easy to get excited on Day 1 of a fitness journey, just like I did! You feel that initial burst of motivation and are ready to tackle everything. But what comes after that? For me, it was about building sustainable habits. I quickly learned that consistency triumphs over perfection. Instead of drastic, overwhelming changes, I focused on small, manageable steps that I knew I could stick with long-term. This mindset shift has been crucial for staying on track. One of the biggest game-changers for me has certainly been meal planning. On my first day, I made a delicious taco plate with lean flank steak, brown rice, and sautéed peppers, using Guerrero Zero Carb tortillas. It was so satisfying to track that on my calorie tracking app! But making that a daily, consistent habit required a bit more foresight. Now, I try to spend a little time each weekend planning out my meals and snacks for the upcoming week. This simple habit helps me avoid impulse buys and ensures I always have healthy options ready to go. Discovering satisfying low-calorie meals, like those spicy tuna cucumber boats, keeps things interesting and helps combat boredom, which can often derail progress. When it comes to working out, finding something you actually enjoy is absolutely crucial. I'm not always up for hitting a traditional gym, so discovering virtual reality fitness has been an incredible solution. Programs like FITXR make working out at home feel like a game, and suddenly, I’m burning over 300 calories without even realizing it's a 'chore.' It’s a fantastic alternative if you’re looking for a home workout plan and want to avoid the gym environment, or if you're just starting out and want to build confidence before stepping into a public space. The key is to experiment and find what truly energizes you, whether it's walking, dancing, virtual boxing, or lifting weights at home. There’s no single 'right' way to exercise. Don't get me wrong, it's not all smooth sailing. There are days when cravings hit hard, or I just don't feel like moving my body. That's when I remind myself of my 'why' and revisit my calorie tracking app to see how far I've come. I also allow myself small, controlled treats—like a serving of garlic and herb pita chips, which I'm a bit addicted to! It's about balance, not deprivation. Every step, big or small, counts towards that healthier, happier me. If you're just starting your own journey, remember to be patient with yourself and celebrate every milestone. It's a marathon, not a sprint, and every effort brings you closer to your goals!
