... Read moreManaging an overnight shift while being a mom can be incredibly challenging, but having a structured night routine makes all the difference. From my personal experience, one key to staying balanced is prepping ahead—this means planning dinner like Taco Thursday to keep meals simple yet enjoyable for the family before the shift starts. Playtime and activities are essential, especially when you want to connect meaningfully with your child before you head off to work. Incorporating fun and engaging play helps strengthen your bond and gives your child a sense of security despite your unusual working hours. A consistent bedtime routine, including a warm bath and some calming moments, creates a peaceful transition for both mom and child. It signals the body and mind to relax and prepares everyone for rest. Even though the schedule might seem hectic, these rituals provide a sense of normalcy amid the overnight chaos. Cleaning up and getting ready mentally and physically before heading to work is another crucial step. I always make sure to take some 'me time' even if briefly, whether it’s a quiet moment in the bathroom or some skincare love. This little self-care act boosts resilience and mood. Overall, the key is embracing the reality of a new job and overnight shift while prioritizing family time and self-care. Sharing routines like this helps normalize the unconventional work hours for moms and offers practical ideas to others facing similar challenges.

What to Say at Work Instead of Apologizing💅🏼
Listen, don’t misunderstand me- if you act up or are rude or say something in the best of the moment, etc, then definitely apologize. However, as women, we apologize way too much at work. Truth is, most things we say sorry about don’t need an apology! Stop the inner dialogue and guilt already!
