Read more私が年末調整でいちばん迷ったのが「扶養控除の一覧を見ても、自分がどれに当てはまるのか分からない問題」でした。ここでは“扶養控除”に絞って、提出前にサクッと判断できるチェックポイントを追加でまとめます。 まず扶養控除は、ざっくり言うと「自分が生活費などを負担している家族(親・子など)がいて、その人が一定の条件を満たす」ときに使える所得控除です。会社員なら年末調整の書類(扶養控除等申告書)で申告することが多いです。 判断のコツは次の順番で確認すること。 1) 扶養に入れたい人の“合計所得金額”を確認 扶養控除は、基本的に扶養にしたい人の所得が一定以下であることが前提です。ここを勘違いすると一発でNGになるので、パート・アルバイトの家族がいる場合は「給与収入=年収」だけでなく“所得”で見る意識が大事でした。給与だけの人なら源泉徴収票(なければ給与明細の年収)から目安を確認します。 2) 扶養にしたい相手の年齢で区分が変わる 扶養控除は年齢で扱いが変わります。学生の子ども、同居している親、別居の親など、年齢によって控除額が変わるため、まずは「その年の12/31時点の年齢」をメモしておくとスムーズでした。 3) “同居・別居”と“生計を一にしているか”を確認 一緒に住んでいなくても仕送りなどで生活を支えていれば対象になるケースがあります。私はここがあいまいで毎回止まりがちだったので、送金履歴や生活費負担の実態を説明できる状態にしておくのがおすすめです。 4) 扶養控除と配偶者控除(配偶者特別控除)は別物 「扶養=配偶者も入れる?」と混乱しがちですが、配偶者は配偶者控除・配偶者特別控除の枠で判定するのが一般的です。親や子どもは扶養控除、配偶者は配偶者系、と切り分けると整理しやすいです。 書類を書く前の実務メモ(私の失敗防止) ・扶養に入れる人の氏名/生年月日/マイナンバー確認 ・その人の見込み年収(特にパート)を早めに共有 ・転職や退職がある年は、所得の見込みがズレやすいので注意 最後に、年末調整で出せない控除(医療費控除、寄附金控除、住宅ローン控除の初年度など)は確定申告側になることも多いです。「年末調整=全部終わり」じゃないので、控除の一覧を見ながら“どこで申告するか”まで一緒にチェックしておくと損しにくいと感じました。
