The Best Caffeine Fixes in Central Massachusetts!
After moving to central Mass I’ve been on a mission to find the best coffee and caffeine, bc unlike Boston and the cape there isn’t really any “popular” or “famous” spots everyone talks about.
So far out of all the places I’ve been I’ve complied a list of my top 8:
🌺🫖 1: located in Hudson is my favorite caffeine fix (and non coffee option) the Evergreen Room. Thing dark, moody, insta perfect, flora, and delicious.
🌙☕️ 2: Located in Shrewsbury is easily my favorite coffee shop MOTW Coffee and Pastries. While portions might be small and prices might be steep, this place has never done me wrong and is always soooo flavorful.
🍸🪴 3: located in Worcester is a close runner up for coffee Cocktail Garden & Kitchen. Like why would cocktail mixologists not also make the best coffee??
🏔️🎿 4: located in Westminster at Wachusett Mountain Ski Area is another runner up for best coffee in the area at Identity Coffee Co. Literally amazing for no reason + the best seasonal specials.
💧🏛️ 5: Located right outside of Paxton is this super cute little coffee shop called Daphne’s Tears Cafe. Very mom and pop and very crunchy. But the creamiestttt Macchiatos.
🍵🍬 6: Located in Worcester is a newer place, and fastly becoming a local favorite, Sugi Matcha! Fresh new flavors and a great rewards system.
🧁🌎 7: Located in Holden is an amazing coffee, roastery, and bakery Barilla Coffee. Ever rotating coffee flavors and desserts. And always delicious.
🎶🎵 8: Located in Worcester is Acoustic Java, and other local fav, that has my boyfriends favorite beans and roast.
I’m still actively on the hunt for the best caffeine fixes in the area and am hoping to eventually have a list full of 10/10’s!

In Worcester, the Cocktail Garden & Kitchen offers an intriguing twist — coffee crafted by mixologists! This unique approach results in complex and rich brews that coffee lovers should experience. Similarly, Sugi Matcha has rapidly gained a loyal following thanks to its fresh matcha flavors and rewarding customer program, appealing to those who seek variety beyond traditional coffee. Identity Coffee Co. at Wachusett Mountain Ski Area delivers flavorful seasonal specials that keep you coming back throughout the year. It’s a great place to warm up after outdoor activities like skiing or hiking. Daphne’s Tears Cafe, a quaint mom-and-pop spot near Paxton, holds a special place in my heart. Their creamy macchiatos are among the best I’ve tasted, balancing texture and flavor perfectly. Barilla Coffee in Holden combines a roastery and bakery, rotating coffee flavors regularly to keep things exciting, plus delightful desserts. It’s an inviting space that caters to those who appreciate freshly roasted beans alongside sweet treats. Lastly, Acoustic Java in Worcester is known locally for its espresso flights and good vibes. Although my personal rating is moderate, it remains a favorite as it consistently offers quality beans and roasts for coffee aficionados. Continuing the search for the perfect caffeine fix here has introduced me to a community of passionate baristas and coffee enthusiasts. Each spot has its own personality and specialty, so trying them all is worth it.
