... Read moreOkay, guys, so you saw my post about burning 1000 calories on the stairmaster, and let me tell you, it was a beast of a challenge! But totally doable. Many of you asked 'how long on stairmaster to burn 1000 calories' and 'how to burn 1000 calories on stairmaster,' so I wanted to dive a bit deeper into my experience and share exactly how I did it, plus some tips for you. First off, yes, it took some serious time and effort! My workout wasn't one continuous session; I split it into two main parts. My smartwatch kept track of everything, which was super helpful. For the first part, I pushed for about 46 minutes and 34 seconds, and my watch showed I burned around 508 total calories. After that, I took a well-deserved 10-minute break to rehydrate and catch my breath. Then, I jumped back on for the second part, which lasted approximately 46 minutes and 24 seconds. In that segment, I burned another 506 total calories. So, in total, that's roughly 1 hour and 42 minutes of active time on the machine to hit over 1000 calories burned – specifically, about 1014 calories for me! My heart rate stayed pretty elevated, averaging around 159 BPM, which shows the intensity. Now, you might be wondering, 'is 1 hour stairmaster calories enough to hit 1000?' or 'how much calories does stairmaster burn?' Honestly, it really depends on a few factors: your body weight, your fitness level, and the intensity or 'level' you're working at. For me, almost two hours of work time was what it took. If you're lighter or working at a lower intensity, it might take longer. If you're really pushing it at a higher 'level 7 calories' pace, you might get there quicker. Don't worry too much about comparing yourself to others – focus on your own progress! If you're aiming for a big calorie burn like this, here are my top tips: Pacing is Key: Don't go all out from the start. I found it better to maintain a consistent, challenging pace that I could sustain for a longer period. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate! This is non-negotiable. I went through a lot of water during my session. Short Breaks are Your Friend: Like my 10-minute break, sometimes stepping off for a moment can help you mentally and physically reset, allowing you to go for longer overall. Focus on Form: Keep your core engaged, stand tall, and avoid leaning heavily on the handles. This ensures you're working the right muscles and maximizing your calorie burn. Stay Entertained: A good playlist or podcast can make the time fly by. It's a mental game as much as a physical one! Track Your Progress: Using a smartwatch or fitness tracker is invaluable. It helps you see your calories burned, duration, and heart rate in real-time, which is super motivating. As for '1000 steps on stairmaster,' while you'll definitely rack up thousands of steps in a session like this, the calorie burn is more closely tied to your heart rate and exertion over time than just a step count. For Intermediate-Advanced Gym Girlies!! I love this workout, it does get quite boring but I normally just turn on a show or listen to some music, you can take breaks I just prefer not too to get a better burn. Make sure to stay hydrated throughout the day and eat so you have the energy to do this!
