Become a 5AM girlie 🌞

I’m definitely more of a night owl but have really been trying to wake up early!! I want to feel like my day is more productive and I love watching the sunrise 🌞 Here are some tips to become a 5 AM girlie:

✨ morning matcha: I don’t drink coffee so this is a great way to wake yourself up without feeling jittery

✨ don’t hit snooze: my BIGGEST issue tbh!! Hitting snooze and falling back asleep puts you back in your REM cycle and will make it harder to wake up

✨relaxing night routine: waking up at 5 AM really starts the night before! Make sure you wind down and feel calm before sleep so you can be well-rested.

What’s your usual wake up time? 👇🏽

It's not just about waking up early; it's about curating a morning that fuels your soul and sets a positive tone for the entire day. My journey wasn't overnight, but by focusing on a peaceful early morning routine, I've transformed my days. Beyond simply avoiding the snooze button, which is a game-changer as the original post mentions (you really don't want to miss that beautiful sunrise!), the real secret lies in what you do before and during those quiet hours. For me, that 'relaxing night time routine' is absolutely foundational to getting good, peaceful sleep so I can be energized in the morning. I've found that dimming the lights an hour before bed, taking a warm bath with Epsom salts, or simply reading a physical book instead of scrolling on my phone makes a massive difference. This helps signal to my body that it's time to wind down, making the 5 AM wake-up feel less like a shock and more like a gentle transition. Once I'm up, the focus shifts to intentionality. While my morning matcha provides that clean caffeine for no jitters, I also start with a large glass of water, sometimes infused with lemon. It's a simple act, but it rehydrates my body after hours of sleep and feels incredibly refreshing. After that, I dedicate about 15-20 minutes to quiet reflection. This could be journaling my thoughts, practicing a short meditation, or simply sitting in silence, enjoying the stillness before the rest of the world wakes up. This peaceful moment is where I set my intentions for the day and cultivate gratitude. I've personally found that this quiet time, combined with gentle stretching, truly helps me feel more centered and less rushed, even when tackling a busy schedule. Another key aspect of my peaceful 5 AM routine is creating an inviting environment. Opening the curtains immediately to let in natural light, even if it's still dim, helps regulate my circadian rhythm. I also ensure my bedroom is tidy before I go to sleep, so I wake up to a calm space rather than clutter. It might seem small, but these details contribute significantly to the overall feeling of peace and control. Consistency is key, but also be kind to yourself. Some days I don't hit my 5 AM goal, and that's okay. The goal isn't perfection, but progress and cultivating a habit that genuinely enhances my well-being. By embracing these practices, becoming a '5 AM girlie' has become less about a strict schedule and more about embracing a lifestyle that prioritizes peace and personal growth.

Could you do the same thing with getting up at 4am? I go to work at 6am and have to get my kids to the babysitters before going to work?
