Anxiety can become VERY physical.

Dizziness. Nausea. Heart racing. Chest tightness. Feeling disconnected or unreal. Stomach issues. Head pressure. The list goes on.

And when those sensations start scaring you, your brain can learn to become even more alert to them, creating a cycle of symptoms → fear → more symptoms.

One of the most powerful things you can practice is changing the way you respond when those familiar sensations show up.

Less fear. Less fighting. More safety. More allowing. 💜

Every new response gives your brain a new experience to learn from.

Your nervous system is adaptable. Your brain can learn new patterns!

If anxiety has taken over your body and you want to learn how to start changing that cycle, follow along. 💜

... Read moreLiving with anxiety can be overwhelming, especially when it manifests through intense physical symptoms like dizziness, nausea, or chest tightness. From my own experience, the turning point in managing these sensations was shifting my mindset from resisting the symptoms to accepting and observing them without judgment. When I first experienced these physical signs, my automatic reaction was to panic or fight against the sensations, which only increased my anxiety and perpetuated a vicious cycle. However, by learning to simply notice where the anxiety manifests in my body—whether it's a fluttering heart or pressure in my head—and consciously breathing into those areas, I began to change my brain’s response. This practice involves acknowledging the symptoms as a stress response rather than a threat, allowing the feelings to pass naturally rather than attempting to suppress or fix them immediately. It's crucial to repeat this approach consistently; every time you respond to your anxiety with less fear and more acceptance, you create new neural pathways that support calmness and resilience. Additionally, gently redirecting your attention away from the physical symptoms to an external object or calming thought can help break the loop of anxiety. This method doesn’t eliminate symptoms instantly but gradually rewires your nervous system to be less reactive. Remember, your nervous system is adaptable and your brain can learn new patterns—patience and practice are key. This approach empowered me to regain a sense of safety in my body and reduced the overwhelming fear that fueled my symptoms. For anyone whose anxiety feels unbearable, starting with mindful awareness and compassionate acceptance can be a powerful first step toward recovery.
