Best coffee & teh in KL 😘☕️| Ho Kow Hainan Kopitiam

I’m not vividly a coffee drinker, but hands down this is the BEST coffee I’ve EVER tried in my life. My friends ALL LOVEEEEEEE it.

Even if it’s long Q, I would say just Q! It’s worth your time basking under the sun for that delicious cup of coffee or teh!! 😋 I tried all 3 drinks, and being the tea person as I am, I got to say THEIR TEH IS SO GOOD TOO *chef kiss 😘

Not to mention, their range of food is really good too. MUST TRY their egg curry toast (can’t rmb the name, but something along this line) it’s just the bombz!! See top left photo in my 3rd slide!

If you’re in KL, please please please wake up early to try this in Chinatown. I guarantee it’ll be a good and satisfy meal. Hands down it’s one of the best food I’ve had when I was in KL. I was really thankful to be staying in a hotel that’s just right opposite it and so, I get to go down as and when I like it. 🌚

If you really hate to Q, get their coffee or teh for takeaway! Their takeaway Qs are slightly* faster!

... Read moreIf you’re planning a visit to Ho Kow Hainan Kopitiam, here are a few tips from my experience to help you fully enjoy this iconic spot. The kopitiam’s location at 1, Jalan Balai Polis in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s Chinatown makes it easily accessible by foot or public transport. The morning queues can be quite long, especially on weekends, but trust me, the wait is worth it. I recommend arriving early to beat the rush and enjoy a relaxed breakfast. If you’re in a hurry or not a fan of waiting, their takeaway option moves faster and lets you savor their famous coffee and teh on the go. Besides their signature kopi and teh tarik, don’t miss out on the unique Coffee Yuan Yang, a blend of coffee and tea that’s smooth and flavorful. The egg curry toast is a standout dish — its rich and savory flavors perfectly complement the strong coffee. This dish isn’t always easy to find on the menu by name but do ask for it; locals highly recommend it. For those new to Hainan-style coffee, this kopitiam offers a warm introduction with its authentic roasting style that brings out a deep, aromatic flavor distinct from typical coffee shops. The spot’s ambiance is traditional with a lively atmosphere, great for experiencing local culture alongside a memorable meal. Whether you’re a coffee aficionado or a tea enthusiast like me, Ho Kow Hainan Kopitiam is a must-try when visiting Kuala Lumpur.
