Phu Quoc? An underrated island in Vietnam! 🇻🇳

Everyone seems puzzled when I said I’m going to Phu Quoc. So where is this place? 🧐

It’s an island located on the west side of Vietnam. A hour flight away from #HCM.

Flight tickets domestically cost about $115 per pax. But here’s a good news: there’s direct flights to Phu Quoc from Singapore!!

Yes, you heard that right! Dumb me bought tickets straight to HCM; only later then I decide to fly to Phu Quoc (hence why I flew domestically) 💀

So what can you do here? Think of it as something like Sentosa. 😆 Theres tons of activities here - Water park, Safari, Vinworld theme park and longest cable car in the world!

Funny thing is I did not do any of the above items 😂 cos your girl isn’t an outdoor adventure kind of person; nor is my partner. Hence we literally chill for the entire trip. We caught fireworks every night, had cocktails every night by the beach bar, our hotel room and we had the most romantic dinner of all while catching the sunset. 💛

I stayed in Sunset Town, which was the tail end of the island where you can see the beach. I had the most amazing stay at Venice Hotel - I had 2 balconies in my room to watch fireworks and night shows.

Some things you need to take note for Phu Quoc:

1. There are tons of Koreans here on this island

2. Main mode of transport is by Grab. There is no buses or trains (similar to HCM)

3. There are fireworks EVERY night in sunset town

4. Did mostly cash transaction here. Did not have a chance to use my YouTrip card at all.

Would you visit this island in #vietnam ? Let me know what you think!

... Read morePhu Quoc offers a rich variety of activities beyond just its stunning sunsets and calm beaches. For travelers seeking adventure, visiting Vinpearl Safari or experiencing the world's longest cable car ride are unforgettable ways to explore the island’s natural beauty and wildlife. However, if you prefer a laid-back trip like I did, you can enjoy cocktail evenings by the beach and watch fireworks light up the sky every night. Getting around the island is convenient with Grab rides, though there's no public transportation like buses or trains, so renting a motorbike or using ride apps is the best option. Be sure to carry cash as many places prefer it over card payments. Also, Phu Quoc has a lively cultural mix, including a notable Korean presence, which adds to the island’s unique charm. Staying in Sunset Town is perfect for those wanting easy beach access and spectacular sunset views right from your hotel room balconies. If you’re planning a trip to Vietnam, Phu Quoc is truly a hidden paradise worth adding to your itinerary for a mix of adventure, relaxation, and memorable beach sunsets that will leave you enchanted.
